Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has commented on reports that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing him this summer.
Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are said to be interested in the 23-year-old Nigerian international who won the Serie A Best Young Player award last season. Osimhen has 24 goals in 51 games in Serie A and is reportedly worth £85 million.
He has also scored 15 goals in 22 appearances for Nigeria. Osimhen has been linked to some of the top clubs in Europe as a result of his stellar play for Napoli, but he has shut off rumours that he may leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this summer.
As reported by the Metro, the African star said:
“I’m in Napoli. And I have great respect for my club. They are just rumors of the market. I’m fine here and I’ve never had such close relationships with everyone as at this moment. ‘I spoke to the president, he is the one who decides, and he reassured me by explaining the club’s plans.”
Both United and Arsenal have had a busy summer as they try to build on last year and go back into the top four of the Premier League. Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, and Christian Eriksen have already signed contracts with United.
Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenkowere acquired by Arsenal from Manchester City for £45 million and £32 million, respectively. Along with goalkeeper Matt Turner and Marquinhos, the Gunners also acquired Fabio Vieira from Porto for £34 million.
However, Ronaldo’s uncertain future raised doubts about the club’s options in front. Although Osimhein would be a powerful signing for Ten Hag, the Portuguese striker’s decision would decide the fate of the transfer.
