Manchester United is set to make a £15 million transfer offer for Sevilla striker, Youssef En Nesyri in the next few days as they aim to add to their attacking options for the upcoming season.
Reports suggest that United is looking to bring in another forward to help share the load from 21-year-old Rasmus Højlund, who was the club’s only available striker last season.
Højlund had scored 16 goals in his debut season but was burdened by challenges throughout, in terms of coping with the heat of the campaign, consistency and at times.
In fact, the last few matches including the FA Cup final saw manager Erik ten Hag getting creative regarding his forward line choices, playing without a proper striker position.
This move practically left Højlund out of the playing XI and limited his game time to impact few minutes, something Manchester United can not afford doing in next season.
Manchester United has found their solution in En Nesyri, whom they have identified as Højlund’s backup option.
According to Máximo Ramírez, it has been reported that Manchester United have now been cleared to make their approach to Sevilla for the services of the Moroccan forward.
A bid between £15–20 million for the 27-year-old striker is on the cards, given that he actually had a good season in front of goal despite Sevilla’s overall struggles.
In sealing 20 goals for the Spanish outfit, En Nesyri went ahead to show his reliability and finishing ability, scoring 20 goals in 41 outings.

He is a player that has experience and playtime in La Liga, moving from CD Leganés to Sevilla in January 2020 and recently marking 196 appearances.
Signing En Nesyri means getting a player for the first team and not as a reserve player.
His coming will give the much-needed depth and competition in the forward line to ensure that United has a more competitive and flexible set of options in the attacking setup.
This fits directly into the broader INEOS strategy, which also aims at strengthening in the centre-back and centre-midfield positions alongside the striker role this summer.
In this sense, the pursuit of En Nesyri reflects more of United’s positive approach in the transfer market.
Instead of going out with checkbooks blazing for a ‘marquee’ signing, they instead boosted their pursuit of a proven goalscorer who can assist Højlund and add even more depth to their squad.
This vision was important for a team competing on so many fronts.

Moreover, his physical presence and aerial ability bring a different dimension to United’s attack, which Ten Hag will be able to use for tactical choices.
So, with the addition of this Moroccan striker, United would be able to take the pressure off Højlund, ensuring they have a tough and flexible attacking line.
The proven goal-scoring ability and experience of En Nesyri would really be a game-changer in this regard for Erik ten Hag’s team in the coming season.
