Manchester United to rival Chelsea for Declan Rice

According to ESPN Manchester United are all set to rival the likes of Chelsea in a bid to secure the services of the highly appreciated young defensive midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer wants to revamp his team in the summer transfer window and is looking to make his team a more defensively solid unit.

Declan Rice has captained the hammers and has also worn the international jersey for England which should be a testament to his pedigree and all of this at the tender age of 22.

According to ESPN Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is also keen on recruiting a forward and central defender for Manchester United. He also wants to let go of several fringe players at the club as it will reduce some of the financial burdens that the club is currently facing. Rice is highly sought after and Chelsea could well have the upper hand as Declan Rice came through his youth days in Chelsea but it looks like Manchester United will try everything, they can to secure his services.

Declan Rice won’t come very cheap and has already proven himself in the Premier League time and again so any interested club will have to be careful. This season many of the top clubs have been reeling from Financial problems.

Declan Rice would certainly demand a high fee and with a contract with West ham that runs up to 2024 a £70 million fee seems like it may be enough to ward off interest from any third parties but nothing can be guaranteed especially in today’s market.
