Marcus Rashford could be back in contention for Manchester United by the end of September, well early and on schedule to participate in the Champions League group stages.
The 23-year-old had successfully completed his shoulder surgery 14 days back and was not expected to get back to first-team training until October at the earliest.
He at first played with the muscle tear last November and had been playing through the injury with the help of painkilling infusions for both United and England at Euro 2020.
But now it has been indicated by The Sun that Marcus Rashford has been working hard on his fitness and the club is delighted with his determination.
With two rehabilitation training a week including water treadmill work, obstruction work, and squats to build more strength, he is presently in less pain and has been wearing a supporting band.
The English winger will presently start a planned fourteen-day program that will ideally prepare him for lightweight training with the main squad and then he will be back in contention for selection before the end of September.
Rashford went through an interesting summer with England at the European Championships, having a little role to play as he played as a substitute in five of their seven games yet failed to have any impact. In the finals against Italy, the winger was one of three players who missed the spot-kick as England lost their first final since 1966.
Paul Pogba has been assigned on the left wing in Rashford’s absence and has already put in a devastating performance by providing four assists against Leeds.
With the choice of Jadon Sancho on the contrary wing, United’s wing choices currently look very risky, and with the increased chances of Rashford returning early, this looks good for United going ahead.
