Marcus Rashford prepared to lead Man United to a strong finish

Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford was set to miss the remainder of the Premier League season but with the extension due to the coronavirus crisis, the Englishman is set to return to the sport.

The coronavirus pandemic has thrown up plenty of issues related to football with the suspension and the financial market. However, for Manchester United, the spread of the deadly bug comes as a slight blessing as ace forward Marcus Rashford was able to recover during the time of the plague that halted football.

With the Premier League set to return on June 17, the Manchester United would be hoping to finish inside the top four to secure their Champions League spot.

Now Manchester United have the added boost of Marcus Rashford in their ranks to push for a Champions League spot as they sit just three points behind Chelsea who claim the fourth spot.

Rashford was in sublime form for United this season before suffering an unfortunate back injury in January in a game against Wolverhampton in January. Reports claimed that the English forward could also have missed the Euro’s which have now been postponed to next year. But it appears that Rashford is now set to return to action and help Manchester United end the season on a high.

The 22-year-old forward scored 19 goals in all competitions this season and took over the mantle from Romelu Lukaku following the Belgian’s departure in the summer to Inter Milan. Rashford was recently spotted training at Carrington for the resumption of football next month.

While speaking about his recovery Rashford claimed that he’s just been getting his head down and working hard to now help United finish the season strongly, “I have just been getting my head down and working. “I am privileged enough to have the equipment I need at home so it is not much different for me as I do a lot of work at home anyway, so I am just staying indoors and making sure I am eating right. For me, motivation is always quite simple. It changes as time goes on, but now that everything outside the pitch is sort of dealt with, I can just focus on myself and improving myself. That is my motivation every day. Regardless of whether we are stuck inside or not, that doesn’t change.”
