Marcus Rashford reveals that he admires Rooney and Ronaldo

As indicated by the Glasgow Times, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is set to take motivation from Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of this summer’s Euros.

The 23-year-old had a mixed season with United which was tangled with injuries and great performances. While he might not have won any trophy with the Red Devils, the Euros give him a chance to offer some positivity to his performances.

Rashford is one of Gareth Southgate’s top players heading into the competition. The Three Lions have neglected to win a significant competition since the 1966 World Cup and are fully focused on winning this euro.

Marcus Rashford is taking motivation from the 2004 year. Two youngsters, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo made their names in the competition, arising as key players for their countries.

Rashford trusts Rooney performed for everything England achieved in the competition. He gave it all that year, driving the Three Lions to the quarter-finals. He was the nation’s top scorer with four goals, a count bettered exclusively by the Czech Republic’s Milan Baros.

Rashford said: “When I was younger, my biggest inspirations were Wayne and Cristiano Ronaldo. I remember Wayne Rooney playing his first Euros in 2004. He was only 18 and he was one of my favorite players already. Whatever you thought was good, you need to do better than that. It’s thanks to those boys that my brain works in that way. Those two were definitely my idols.”
