Youngster Mason Greenwood’s superb goal against Aston Villa on Sunday saw him outperform Wayne Rooney to establish another well-deserved record for the most Premier League goals scored as a youngster for Manchester United.
Greenwood put United 2-1 up not long after Bruno Fernandes evened out with a goal from his spot-kick, the 19-year-old getting a pass from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and turning away from Tyrone Mings in a single development prior to tracking down the base right corner. Manchester United eventually proceeded to win 3-1.
It was the sixteenth Premier League objective of his profession, having got his first in November 2019 not long after turning 18. As stated by United’s official Twitter Account, Greenwood outperformed Rooney’s take of 15 objectives scored for United as a youngster.

Greenwood could yet broaden his record significantly also, given he doesn’t turn 20 until October. He has generally battled to arrive at similar statures as the last term when he scored multiple times in the Premier League, anyway the England global has hit a good run of form since the beginning of April.
Greenwood currently has five Premier League goals around there, a count that no player can better. It took him 29 alliance trips to score his past five in the opposition. It was the sort of structure that had Greenwood’s 2019-20 looking considerably more surprising, given his 10 deserved goals came from an xG worth of simply 2.9.
Nobody in the Premier League had a superior xG overperformance last term, recommending his completion was either terrifically clinical or he was lucking out an unusual sum.
While it appears it was a mix of both, his new appearances recommend Greenwood has his profession in the groove again after somewhat of a wobble.
