Mason Greenwood tipped for success at Man United by Odion Ighalo

Manchester United prodigy Mason Greenwood has the ability and potential to make it to the very top says club-mate Odion Ighalo.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Mason Greenwood has begun to make his mark this season, as the 18-year-old forward has already managed to rack up 37 appearances for the first team, netting 13 goals along the way, including five strikes in the English top division.

Still, at a tender age of 18, he has not yet established himself as a starting player, but his fellow teammate Ighalo, who was brought to the club in the January transfer market, in a bid to increase the depth in the striking force, has stated that improvements and growth come with time and a little patience.

Speaking on a recent Instagram live session with reporters, the 30-year-old striker on loan at Manchester United heaped praise on the teenage superstar, “He’s very young and exciting. A very good player left and right, he can shoot and score goals. He’s a player for the future for Man Utd. He’s doing well now but in two or three years he is going to be doing very, very well.”

Ighalo was signed on loan at Manchester United from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua on transfer deadline day in January until the end of the season but with the coronavirus crisis that has halted sports across the world, the outcome of the situation is yet to be analyzed with plenty of speculations around his future at the club. The Premier League was suspended earlier in March following an outbreak of the coronavirus crisis in the UK. Since his move to Old Trafford earlier this year, Ighalo featured eight times under Solskjaer and registered four goals for the Premier League side.
