Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has stated that clubmate Marcus Rashford can become one of the best forwards in the world.
Red Devils striker Marcus Rashford has scored 19 goals and supplied a further five assists in 31 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side this term, making it the most prolific season of his career so far.
However, the 22-year-old attacker has not featured for United ever since the 1-0 FA Cup third-round replay win over Wolves in January, having sustained a double stress fracture in his back.
With the Premier League not expected to restart at least until mid-June due to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK, Rashford might be fit enough to help United push for Champions League qualification once the season resumes. Manchester United remain in fifth place on the Premier League table and are only four points behind Chelsea in a race for a top-four berth.
When asked to name United’s best player at the club, 31-year-old Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic called out Marcus Rashford as the pick of the bunch from a young group of starlets at the club. Matic said, “We have a lot of young players, but they have maybe not reached their top yet, but Marcus Rashford has the ability to be one of the best players in the world in his position. He’s still improving, but he has everything to reach that top level.”
