As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Jose Mourinho is set to sign Nemanja Matic for the third time after the defensive midfielder left Manchester United for free this summer.
Matic previously worked with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, where they won the Premier League together in 2015.
After winning another title with the Blues, this time under Antonio Conte, he moved to Manchester United in 2017 to work with the Portuguese coach once more, albeit he failed to win any trophy during his five-year spell at Old Trafford.
The Serbian international has signed a one-year contract with Roma, with the possibility of a second-year if he performs well.

When Matic’s contract was not renewed and he was preparing to depart United in May, Mourinho remained tight-lipped when asked about the potential of signing the 33-year-old.
Mourinho already has two former United players in his Roma squad: defender Chris Smalling and attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the latter is expected to join Inter Milan.
Nemanja Matic is the latest ex-Premier League player to move to Rome, following the arrivals of Rui Patricio and Tammy Abraham from Wolves and Chelsea, respectively, and Hector Bellerin of Arsenal has also been linked with a move to Serie A this summer.
Following his dismissal from Tottenham, Mourinho took over at Roma last year, and in his first season in command, the club finished sixth in the league and won the Europa Conference League for the first time.
We wish Nemanja Matic all the best for his career ahead.
