As reported by the Daily Telegraph, Newcastle United is looking to sign a quality centre-back this summer and Steve Bruce wants to add some strength to his back-line. Axel Tuanzebe has been targeted for a potential loan move this summer.
Newcastle United wants to sign a good defender on a permanent basis but their current financial conditions don’t provide them that freedom. The only option will be a loan move.
Manchester United young centre-back Tuanzebe has been linked with a loan move to Newcastle United. He has played for Steve Bruce’s side in the past and had made 30 Championship appearances over two seasons. He was very impressive and his performances in the finals against Derby County were highly praised.
Many considered that Tuanzebe is good enough to play regularly for United. Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Solksjaer has built a strong defensive fortress with Harry Maguire and the newcomer Raphael Varane.
This has hindered the chance of Tuanzebe to even make the bench as players like Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly will be preferred more.
Even Aston Villa has been closely targeting Tuanzebe and it seems that it will be an open race to sign the young centre-back. A loan move will be beneficial for both, the player and the club.
This will provide more regular team football for Tuanzebe and he may return next season with more impressive performances in his bag.
