As reported by The Mirror, Paul Pogba has expressed his unhappiness with his lack of a clear role at Manchester United, as well as the club’s lack of success over the years.
The French midfielder has been criticized for being a consistent performer for his country but failing to replicate his success at the club level.
Pogba has stated that under Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps, he has more confidence and freedom, which looks more like a dig at Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
Rangnick has used the French international in a variety of places in recent weeks, and he was also left out of the starting eleven in the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
Pogba clearly addressed the speculation surrounding Paris-Saint-Germain, saying that he would be delighted to play for Les Parisiens and that he hopes to win more trophies in the future.
He said: “First, I agree with this statement. It’s the truth. Here (with France), I have a lot more playing time, the system is different than with my club. In fact, it is simple, with Les Bleus, I play, and, on top of that, in my position. I know my role, I feel the confidence of the coach, the players.”
“It is normal, to feel this difference with Manchester because it is difficult to be consistent when you change position often, also the playing style or who you are playing with. It is not just that. I get on very well with the manager, he’s given me a role that I know, but, at Manchester United, do I really have a role? I ask myself this question and I do not have an answer.”
“To keep winning, improving, and take back the years where I have not won any trophies. We have to be honest, I am not satisfied, over the last 5 years, but not at all. This year, it’s dead, we will win nothing again. Whether it is with Manchester or in another club, I want to win trophies.”
Pogba’s contract at Old Trafford expires this summer, and all signs point to him leaving the club. A new manager may change his mind, but it all depends on how things unfold in the upcoming months.
The 29-year-old also revealed details of a break-in at his home last week, which occurred during Manchester United’s Champions League loss to Atlético Madrid, when his children were present and being looked after by a babysitter.
Pogba verified that his family is safe following the incident, but also revealed that his World Cup winner’s medal was among the stolen belongings.
Currently, Paul Pogba is training with the France squad, preparing for matches against Ivory Coast and South Africa, and it’s like a ‘breath of fresh air for him as he tries to regain his fitness and return to Manchester United in ‘top condition.’
