Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has responded well to Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent comments on his club.
The INEOS chief has praised the Citizens for their spectacular performances in the last few years and the progress that they have made both on and off the pitch.
He highlighted City’s game against Real Madrid in the UCL last season as one of the best games he has watched up to date. The British billionaire was certainly inspired by the Qatari owned club’s rise to the pinnacle of World football.
Man City manager Guardiola has now responded to Ratcliffe’s words, and he did agree to the fact that the new owners will push United to hunt down their fierce rivals of Manchester.
As quoted by the Manchester Evening News, the Spanish manager gave an honest reply by saying:
“It’s the truth. As much as the teams admit it, they will be closer to us. When we were below and United were winning, we were watching them, admiring them. We wanted to learn from them.”
“I’m pretty sure City admired and thought we want to be there. Now we are there. That’s why, for these types of comments, that I have the feeling that they will be back.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe aims to smash Man City on the field in the race to become the next superpower
Man United and Man City’s long-standing rivalry never fails to entertain fans. But it is not just about the rivalry but also a race to acquire the tag as the next superpower of English football.
Guardiola’s side have enjoyed this run and they have dominated everything both on and off the field. From winning several back-to-back PL titles to lifting their first ever Champions League trophy, they have come a long way.
The club’s internal structure, an eye for quality signings, building relationships with its staff and management, trusting their manager and planning for the future has helped them rise to dominance and inspire many along the way.

Ratcliffe is one such fan who would be dreaming to help Man United end City’s dominance and carve their name as the next powerhouse in the league. It is not just about the matter of trophies, but also winning the pride back after losing it since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
The Red Devils have a long way to go and every small step accounts if it is taken with considerable planning. There are mistakes to learn from and the British billionaire would fancy his chances to be the hero to the United well-wishers.
In the end, the onus is on the boyhood Man United fan to make this era one of his own.
