According to the Sun, Real Madrid have pipped Manchester United in the race to sign highly sought-after midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Even though Premier League teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool have all been aware of the player since he was in the Championship with Birmingham, Madrid are thought to have taken the first moves in signing him. Carlo Ancelotti’s team is attempting to sign the 19-year-old in a deal that may cost up to £87 million.
Madrid needs to revitalize their midfield after selling Casemiro to Manchester United in the summer and replacing veteran players Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. The English midfielder may eventually join French teammates Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.
Bellingham has one year left on his present contract, so it’s anticipated that a lower asking price will be sufficient to persuade Dortmund to sell, despite their desire to get nearly £100 million last summer.
Real Madrid’s interest would make it tough for United to target the Dortmund captain since the German side can have the advantage of increasing their asking price.
Erik ten Hag is not fully satisfied with Casemiro since the defensive midfielder has been unable to work out his magic in the Premier League. His fitness issues would be a sign of concern considering his age and the Red Devils will find it tempting to invest in a young player like Bellingham. It remains to be seen whether who will win the race to sign the 19-year-old midfield prodigy next summer.
