Saudi club Al-Nassr submit a big offer for Manchester United target Andre Onana

According to CBS Sports, Manchester United are facing competition from wealthy Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for goalkeeper target Andre Onana.

It is suggested that Al-Nassr has made a highly attractive offer for the Inter Milan shot-stopper, who has been earmarked as a potential replacement for David De Gea at Old Trafford.

United’s staff have identified Onana as a potential upgrade to De Gea. The Cameroonian international has shown great skill in possession and impressed during Inter Milan’s surprising journey to the Champions League final.

Consequently, he stands out as an excellent choice for the long-term replacement of De Gea. However, a rival offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has unnerved the Red Devils.

The club, which Cristiano Ronaldo joined after leaving Old Trafford, is said to have made a substantial offer for the goalkeeper.

Onana appears to be the preferred target for Al-Nassr, who will be without former Arsenal player David Ospina for a significant portion of the season due to injury.

Additionally, the Saudi Pro League runners-up have also expressed interest in De Gea, who is now a free agent after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract with Man United before July 1.

Al-Nassr have reportedly presented a highly lucrative offer to Onana, putting pressure on United to quickly finalise discussions with Inter regarding the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

Beppe Marotta, CEO of Inter, has confirmed that United are engaged in negotiations with the Italian club. However, the Red Devils haven’t placed any official bid.

As United prepares for pre-season, they are facing the prospect of starting with only Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton as their senior goalkeepers. The situation becomes more unsettling for the club’s management as Henderson is widely expected to leave this summer.

Henderson spent the previous season on loan at Nottingham Forest but suffered an injury that cut short his campaign. United temporarily acquired Jack Butland from Crystal Palace on loan in January, but the former England international has since joined Rangers.

With just over a month remaining until the start of the 2023–24 season against Wolves at Old Trafford, United find themselves urgently searching for goalkeeper upgrades.

They will be hoping to tempt Andre Onana to join the Premier League by convincing him to turn down a substantial offer from Al-Nassr.
