Six Potential Summer Signings for Manchester United [2020]

Manchester United FC are linked to a host of players, like every season, in this transfer window as well. It is sure that the Red Devils will need a few recruits to get them challenging for the Premier League again. Here, we will take a look at the players who are relevantly linked to the Manchester club and their transfers would make sense.

#1 FEDERICO CHIESA

Federico Chiesa has lit up the Italian Serie-A in a mediocre Fiorentina side and has played 27 matches in the league. This season, in the 27 games he has played in Serie-A, he has scored six goals and has provided five assists. The Italian is seen as an alternative to Jadon Sancho on the right flank for Manchester United.

Chiesa can play on either of the wings, is young, and is very pacy and is great in the counter-attack. The Italian international is ready for the step up and Old Trafford is one of his reported destinations. But, with interests coming from Juventus and Inter Milan, it will be difficult for United to secure his services.

#2 DECLAN RICE

The defensive English midfielder is linked to big clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United after spending seven years with West Ham. Rice is only 21-years old and has made it big in the Premier League for a couple of seasons now. He looks like the only good player in a bleak West Ham team which has just been safe from relegation.

Matic is playing well and has signed a contract keeping him at Old Trafford till 2023, but age is not on his side. Rice might just be the successor for Matic and be a long-term solution for the CDM spot at United. With a move eminent for the midfielder, Manchester United might just be tempted to put forward a bid.

#3 DONNY VAN DE BEEK

One of the hottest Dutch prospects, Donny Van de Beek is a 23-year old midfielder, who can play anywhere in the midfield. His versatility has earned him plaudits and have him linked with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United. The youngster also has an agreement with Ajax if a suitable bid comes in for him, he will be allowed to move.

Van de Beek is young but has experience in the Champions League and the Dutch national team. His move to United makes sense as the Red Devils are looking for a creative midfielder as back-up for Pogba and Fernandes. Also, he can replace the ageing Matic, if he succumbs to an injury, as Van de Beek is a good passer and tackler.

#4 MILAN SKRINIAR

The Red Devils are in the lookout of a central defender to partner Harry Maguire, at the end of this season. The Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar is reportedly available in the summer for sale, as he hasn’t done well in the back three for Conte. The Slovakian defender has got great quality on the ball and is quick thus will complement Maguire’s qualities.

United have reportedly bid £57m for the Inter defender and are likely to follow up to secure his services. Skriniar will be a great addition to the Red Devils’ defence and will take them to the very top. He is no more considered unsellable for Inter Milan and might end up at Old Trafford next season.

#5 JACK GREALISH

Jack Grealish to Manchester United has been talked about for more than a couple of months now and it seems legit. The attacking midfielder is too good to go down the Championship and has all the qualities to play in the Premier League. He has caused damage to almost all the teams and looks set for a move to a big club.

United aren’t the only team after him, as Spurs are also targeting the Englishman to bolster their attack. He will be a good choice for United as he will serve as a backup to Bruno Fernandes, in the attacking midfield position. His transfer fee might be a problem though as Aston Villa will look to cash-in on their departing captain and talisman.

#6 JADON SANCHO

Jadon Sancho looks set to become a part of the Red Devils and is still their transfer priority this season. The young English winger has set the world on fire at Dortmund and has attracted interests from all around the globe. But his links to Manchester United seem to be the strongest as they desperately need a world-class right-winger.

The stories relating both the parties have gone on for months now and the transfer finally looks to take shape. It has also been reported that Dortmund are already in the lookout for Sancho’s replacement, making United’s case stronger. Only time will tell when Sancho will don the No.7 shirt for the Red Devils.
