Manchester United FC is looking at a host of players to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window. Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish are the two most common names to be linked with the Red Devils this season. But manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might have to sacrifice some of his players to fund any of the moves.
It is believed that Jadon Sancho will cost in the upwards of £90m from Dortmund. Also, day by day, people at Dortmund are growing more confident that no club will have the financial muscle to bid for Sancho. This is because the pandemic has caused havoc all over the world and no club can offer such an amount.
Aston Villa FC is reportedly demanding £80m to let go of their talismanic captain Jack Grealish. Whereas, Grealish might cost United about £40-£50m, should Aston Villa be relegated, which is inevitable looking at their league position. Manchester United will face stern competition from other Premier League clubs for the signing of Grealish this summer.
Solskjaer had earlier said that the club will be in a better position than other clubs post the pandemic. But due to the pandemic, even a club of Manchester United’s magnitude will need to sell players to sign new ones. It is being reported that Ed Woodward has asked Solskjaer to sell players first to raise cash.
Solskjaer has always looked to remove deadwood from the club and has successfully done so in the previous transfer windows. This window, he will look to sell up to five players to raise cash for new signings to come in. The players who seem to face the axe at Manchester United are Sanchez, Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Smalling, and Phil Jones.

Chris Smalling has spent this season on-loan at AS Roma and has impressed the Italians, and wants to stay put. He will be valued at about £15-£20m, and United might part ways with their ex-captain as a move to Italy nears. Phil Jones might also be sacrificed this summer to raise about £10m.
The Red Devils will be desperate to get Alexis Sanchez off their books with his massive wage bills. Inter Milan want to extend his loan stay, but United are wary of strengthening a direct Europa League rival. With Tottenham and Real Valladolid interested in the Chilean, his dismal time at Old Trafford might finally come to an end.
Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira are the two other players who might be shown the door at Manchester United. Both the players have massively disappointed and it looks like Solskjaer wants to move on from mediocre players. With all the reports, it seems that Manchester United will be set for a very busy summer.
