Sergio Reguilon has been at the centre of transfer speculation this summer after Real Madrid have decided to sell him. He has been linked with the likes of Sevilla, Manchester United and Tottenham as the Madrid club has offered him to several clubs. It is now being reported by ESPN that Tottenham have gone forward than United and have hijacked Reguilon’s move to United.
It was earlier reported about United’s keen interest in signing Reguilon this summer, as the player was even interested in a move. The left-back was impressive last season on-loan at Sevilla but is surplus to needs at Real Madrid. It was earlier reported that the Los Blancos emphasized on having a buy-back clause in Reguilon’s contract, but United were resistant to any such clause.
It is now being reported that Real and Tottenham have agreed a fee of around €30m and the left-back will most likely sign a five-year contract. Tottenham have given a higher fee than United and have also agreed on having the buy-back clause inserted in the contract. This would be a setback for United as the club was seriously looking at Reguilon but also have Telles has another option as left-back.
Manchester United would be disappointed not to get Reguilon, but with other options available, the club must act quickly.
