United Consider Signing Marcel Sabitzer Permanently Despite €25m Price Tag

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United is still interested in signing midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, despite Bayern Munich’s €25 million asking price.

The Red Devils are considering making his loan move permanent, but the uncertainty surrounding the club’s ownership has hindered progress.

Sabitzer has scored three goals and provided one assist in 18 appearances since joining United on loan in January.

However, it is advised that United resists the temptation to sign Sabitzer permanently. The 29-year-old is considered to have little value at the potential asking price, especially as he would not have any resale value.

The club already has a sufficient number of average midfielders and should focus on acquiring players who can make a real difference on the field. Sabitzer has played well in the past few months but it would be better if the club prefers to save the cash for another young midfielder.

In our opinion, United should consider pursuing Sabitzer’s Bayern teammate Ryan Gravenberch, despite the need to spend more than €25 million for his services.

The 20-year-old has the potential to become a star for the club and could be enticed by the opportunity to reunite with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.

While Bayern has the right to demand any price they desire for Sabitzer, it is suggested that United should not engage in negotiations for him. Gravenberch could be a smart signing for the club this summer.
