Manchester United FC are reportedly looking for a right-winger in the transfer market at the end of the season. The name the Red Devils have been most linked with is Jadon Sancho, but it will be difficult to have him. Dortmund demand transfer fees over £100m and thus United have lined up Adama Traore as the alternative to Sancho.
Adama Traore has played very well for the Wolves and has linked up with Raul Jimenez to cause havoc. Jimenez and Traore are the most lethal duo in the Premier League when it comes to assisting each other. Traore is one of the fastest players in world football and uses his pace to great effect.
He is one of the main reasons for Wolves’ great performance in the Premier League this season. Traore has featured in 32 games this season in the Premier League, scoring 4 goals and providing 9 assists. With 9 assists in the Premier League, he stands as the third-highest assist provider, only behind De Bruyne and Alexander Arnold.
The pacy winger is a graduate from the fabled La Masia academy and has even featured four times for Barcelona. Traore was shifted to right-wingback earlier in his career and didn’t do very well at Middelbrough FC, his former employers. But under Nuno Espirito Santo, Traore has turned out to a beast in the right-wing for the Wolves.
Manchester United are keen to bolster their right-wing position even after great performances from the talented Mason Greenwood. With Dortmund asking £108m for Jadon Sancho, it will be difficult for the Red Devils to get the transfer over the line. Thus, as an alternative to Sancho, United have lined up Adama Traore, who will be available at a cheaper price.
Traore’s pace has been frightening at times and with his improved final-ball, he is only going to get better. Not just United, even Manchester City and Juventus are also linked with the Spaniard and seem to be more desperate to get Traore. Wolves will also try their best to keep him at the club to help their chances in Europe next season.
Traore looks set for a step up, and United will be keen to have him if they don’t get Sancho.
