United set to battle with Chelsea in the race to sign Giorgio Scalvini

As reported by Corriere della Serra, Manchester United should compete with Chelsea in the race to sign Atalanta starlet Giorgio Scalvini this summer.

Scalvini is considered one of the top young centre backs in the world, with 41 matches for Atalanta under his belt.

Moreover, the 19-year-old has played three times for Italy and appears to have a promising future.

The teenager is presently valued at €40 million by Atalanta, and Chelsea are favourites to buy him.

We believe the Red Devils should sign him before the Blues do since United is reportedly keeping track of his progress.

This season, the wonderkid has consistently delivered for the Italian side. His remarkable Serie A statistics include 1.9 tackles, 1.6 clearances, and 1.4 interceptions per game.

Scalvini has the potential to one day be a top-tier center-back. He needs to be considered as Harry Maguire’s replacement, who will probably depart this summer.

Given that Chelsea is actively seeking out the Italian wonderkid, United will need to take the initiative in order to sign him.

Erik ten Hag will be aiming to sign big-name stars, but the Dutchman should place equal emphasis on young individuals with enormous potential.

Ten Hag has an excellent track record in turning young youngsters into world beaters from his time at Ajax. He should use the same strategy at United.
