SkySports journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Manchester United are looking at Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Nigerian has so far led Napoli to a comfortable lead at the top of Serie A with some noteworthy performances. It has been a season to remember for the Italian club.
Osimhen has only made 11 league appearances so far in 2022–23, but he has already scored nine goals, in addition to one goal in the Champions League.
The 23-year-old is currently one of the hottest young talents in Europe, and with United looking for further firepower, they might be prepared to seize the opportunity.

Being physically dominant, Osimhen might be the ideal attacking addition for United and join as a high-profile signing. The Napoli star is a behemoth of a figure who possesses speed, power, and a relentless end result and is built in a manner reminiscent of players like Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez.
Osimhen can potentially be United’s next great striker, but it might not be easy to sign him in January given that Napoli appears to be the favourite to win the Serie A.
A January transfer may be feasible given the right circumstances, as the striker has a rumoured price tag of around £60 million.
