Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane has hailed his fellow teammates Luke Shaw and Rio Ferdinand as very good players. He is delighted to be the new member of an already talented squad.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “I think they are very good players and I’m very happy to be a new player in this team because there is a lot of talent. I’m sure when you don’t win a trophy and you lost in a final then the next time you are more motivated and you want to win more than ever.”
Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have been brilliant for England in the Euros 2020. They were unlucky to lose the final but their performances were impressive and their stats speak of their influence on their national team.
They even lost the Europa League final against Villarreal, which makes it two finals lost in the span of three months. But this defeat will help them to be more hungry for trophies next season.
Varane hopes that his teammates will be more hungry to win after their recent heartbreaks and along with him they can aim higher.
Manchester United started their campaign in the best way possible as they crushed Leeds United with a 5-1 scoreline. Varane was introduced to the Old Trafford crowd just before the kickoff on Sunday.
The most anticipated pairing will be on display against Southampton as it has been predicted that both, Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire could play together for Manchester United.
It would be a nightmare for opposition defenders to break the solid backline of Shaw-Varane-Maguire-Wan Bissaka. After years, we are able to witness strong defensive reinforcements in the squad and it looks like this could bring in a new era of trophies for Manchester United.
