Swedish international Victor Lindelof has expressed his willingness to commit to a new long-term contract with Manchester United.
The centre-back, who has been with the Red Devils for seven seasons, remains an important asset to the team.
In an interview with Fotbollskanalen, Lindelof stated that he is aware of an extension clause in his contract that would see him stay with United until June 2025.
He also said that he is happy with his life at Old Trafford and could stay for more years at the club.
“That’s more than I heard. But I have an option [for another] year and there is a deadline for it. When exactly I don’t know. But it feels quite likely that it will be activated.”
“Absolutely. I enjoy myself very much. I am entering my seventh year at the club. I feel good and the family feels good. It’s a club that I really like, and that I love to represent.”

Lindelof made a £31 million move from Benfica to United in the summer of 2017 and has since played in 241 matches for the club in various competitions.
In recent times, his playing time has slightly decreased, with manager Erik ten Hag often favouring Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as the top choices for centre-back positions.
Nonetheless, the Swedish star remains a crucial player for the team, especially given the injury history of Varane and Martinez. It seems like a clear and wise decision to extend his contract beyond June 2025.

The Red Devils are reportedly considering the pursuit of another top-tier centre-back in the upcoming year. However, this potential move may come at the cost of Harry Maguire, whose performance has been below par in recent seasons.
Furthermore, there is speculation that the club might be looking to sign Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo, especially with the prospect of Sir Jim Ratcliffe securing a minority ownership stake in United.
It’s worth noting that Ratcliffe is the owner of the French club Nice.
