A deal had already been agreed in November and Mel Morris the owner will be reluctant to spend any f his cash before the transfer takes place.
This has left the players and the club in crisis mode. The Mail reported how Wayne Rooney showed a grand gesture by telling the club that he is willing to let go of a part of his wages so that it can be used to the players. Everything has gone for a toss as this pandemic has made it difficult for everybody right now. It is a tough situation and also shows how the clubs at the lower level are more impacted by this windfall.
The teams in the lower leagues do not as much support from broadcasting rights as the top teams do and with lockdowns at different stages even their match ticket revenues have dropped down drastically which makes survival even tougher.
