Manchester United’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen has received a significant boost as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reduced the player’s asking price.
The Nigerian striker had a remarkable 2022/23 season with Napoli, scoring 31 goals and providing five assists in 39 appearances. He played a crucial role in the club winning the Scudetto after a 30-year wait.
However, the 24-year-old could be on the move this summer, with Manchester United showing interest. Osimhen has not ruled out a potential departure, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that De Laurentiis is now willing to consider offers starting from €120 million.
Previously, it was believed that De Laurentiis would not entertain offers below €150 million, but the valuation has been lowered ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
According to the report, the Red Devils are currently in the lead among English clubs in the race to sign Victor Osimhen.
However, they could face competition from various European rivals, including Bayern Munich, AS Monaco, Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid.
While United manager Erik Ten Hag has identified Harry Kane as his top striker target, it seems unlikely that the Englishman will be joining the club in the near future.
Tottenham Hotspur has no intention of entering discussions for the sale of their captain to a direct Premier League rival. Kane could potentially choose to let his contract run down or pursue a move to Real Madrid.
As a result, Man United may need to consider alternative options. Napoli’s Osimhen was previously considered too costly, but the latest update indicates a shift in United’s stance.

With Aurelio De Laurentiis reducing the price by €30 million, Osimhen is now valued at just over £100 million. This adjustment should motivate the Old Trafford side to submit a formal offer.
However, they will face competition, as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are all financially capable of meeting the transfer fee. Therefore, Ten Hag’s side must act swiftly to secure a deal.
