Alexis Sanchez is close to making a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan this summer transfer window but Manchester United might have to pay off the Italian club if they want to make his move permanent.
There was a lot of hype around Alexis Sanchez when he arrived at Manchester United back in January 2018 from North London side Arsenal in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way. However, the Chilean forward has had quite a horrendous dip in form ever since joining the Red Devils scoring just five goals in 45 appearances.
In fact, Sanchez has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer as the club is not keen on keeping him to pay his massive wages of £400,000 a week. In order offload the 30-year-old, Manchester United are looking to negotiate a deal with Italian club Inter Milan over a move for Sanchez.
But Inter is not willing to match Sanchez’ high wages and offering him £150,00 a week instead which means that United will have to pay Inter Milan for making his move to the San Siro on a permanent basis. Sanchez’ contract insists that United will have to pay off the club around £15 million if his move is a clause to buy by Inter is triggered.
Sanchez still has two years left on his current contract with the club and but his injuries and awful form have pushed Manchester United to the limit. It’s quite clear that he does not have a future at Old Trafford and Ole Gunnar Solskajer wants to get rid of the forward but it may not be an easy job even if they do so.
If Sanchez joins Inter Milan, he would partner up with Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku who also left Manchester United to join the Serie A outfit earlier this summer.
