Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani will leave the club this summer and Fiorentina has expressed their interest in him.
Manchester United’s official club website recently revealed that Cavani will not be a Red after the end of the season.
Cavani’s contract expires in the summer, allowing clubs to sign the lethal goalscorer on a free transfer. According to Calcio Mercato, Italian clubs Fiorentina and Salernitana, are interested in signing the Uruguayan.
The 35-year-old started his Manchester United career with a bang, scoring 17 goals in his first season. This season, though, the aged forward has slowed down, scoring only two goals.

Due to the shrewd signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, his playing time has been reduced, and he’s also been struggling with injuries in recent months. Cavani has missed 24 games this season, which is a concern for any club interested in signing him.
With just Ronaldo and Rashford, who are normally deployed as a winger, as recognised strikers, Manchester United will undoubtedly explore the market in the forthcoming window as a result of Cavani’s departure.
Several names have popped up with Christopher Nkunku and Darwin Nunez being the most notable targets. However, Chelsea are also trying to lure Nkunku to Stamford Bridge.
However, Darwin Nunez will most probably sign for a club that plays in the Champions League next season which makes him a difficult signing at this moment.
This means that Erik Ten Hag now needs to sit down with the board and make swift decisions as other clubs have started approaching their targets.
