Despite his connections with Aston Villa, Manchester United is reportedly planning to allow Axel Tuanzebe to join Napoli in January.
The dominant young center-back was already on loan at Birmingham, but he appears to have decided to switch teams midway through the season.
Napoli and United are ‘defining the final details’ for Tuanzebe, according to Tutto Mercato Web, after Aston Villa had to accept the loan’s early termination.
The deal is believed to be nearing completion and will only be temporary, however, the Italians are interested in a permanent transfer if things go well.

Tuanzebe was a fan favorite at United, but he never seemed to strike it rich enough to break into the first squad on a permanent basis.
Bailly, Lindelof, Maguire, Varane, and Jones are now Ralf Rangnick’s options, but things might change rapidly.
Lindelof has recently been coping with personal troubles and is currently recovering from Covid as well as a little cardiac scare. Maguire has been out of sorts all season, while Varane has been out of shape since joining Real Madrid in the summer.
Jones, meanwhile, is looking for a January transfer, whether on loan or permanently, while Bailly is focused on the African Cup of Nations this month.
