Manchester United have sealed Van de Beek’s future last night, which was the club’s first signing this summer transfer window. But the Red Devils have a huge squad, with some players who aren’t any more at their best and the club needs to sell them. It is now being reported by The Times that United, after Van de Beek’s deal will look to sell Lingard and Pereira.
The Red Devils are one of the richest clubs in the world and have one of the most bizarre wages structures in the world. Manchester United are one of the highest payers in players’ salaries in the world as well. The Red Devils have a very weak bench though and are planning on selling the likes of Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira to generate funds.
Lingard and Pereira were very disappointing last season, as both the players did little to justify their place at United. Both players have been linked to moves away from United with Pereira being linked to Valencia and Lingard being linked to several mid-table clubs. Selling both the players will not only get United funds but will also take considerable wages out.
With Van de Beek, Fernandes, Pogba, Matic, McTominay and Fred in midfield, United must sell Pereira and Lingard to keep the balance of the team.
